Illuminations, Pattern Blocks, & Munchkins! ♥

We are working on geometric shapes this week & learning how many shapes we can make using different shapes.  They were excited!  Happy little munchkins.... I love 'em!  So, first we did a little brainstorming & shape naming.  Then we went to this website:  Illuminations

And then, we used manipulatives to build the shape we made on the smartboard.   After that, we drew that shape, built new shapes, and illustrated them!  It was tons of fun.

Tomorrow we're taking a similar activity to a whole 'nuther level.  I am LOVING first grade!
